Auto complete not working in Go To

Hi, I'm hoping someone can come up with an answer for this because I'm a bit puzzled.
I use the Go To function a lot and recently I've noticed that it isn't auto completing paths any more. It does remember paths/files I've previously entered, and it does auto complete from the address bar just fine which I could somewhat live with if there was a keyboard shortcut to shift the focus to it so I could type, but there doesn't appear to be such a thing. I'd much rather have auto-complete working in Go To again though.
Couple of troubleshooting things I've tried:
1) Yes, I checked that auto-complete was still enabled in Configuration > Advanced.
2) I tried with a clean install of XYplorer 7.90.0120, no auto-complete in Go To despite it being enabled but it worked in the address bar.
3) I tried the most recent beta, 7.90.0126 as I type this. See 2) for result.
Anyone got any bright ideas?
Yours in confusion,
Reignfire

What do you mean here? A keyboard shortcut to switch focus between the auto-complete list and the address bar, or something else?
But you're right it no longer auto-completes for the Go To dialog.
It looks like this broke sometime between v7.70.0022 and v7.80.0035, perhaps with the addition of multiple locations quick searching.

Something else. Say I use Ctrl-T to open a new tab, instead of then opening Go To I was talking about a keyboard shortcut that would allow me to start typing in the address bar instead of having to manually click in it first. Basically the equivalent of doing Alt-D in a web browser.

Ah, so it isn't just me then. Good to know.

Ah - that does exist!
The default shortcut for that is Ctrl+Alt+A, but you can change it using Tools->Customize Keyboard Shortcuts. The command can be found under the category Miscellaneous, and then "Focus Functions->Focus Address Bar". (Or you can type Ctrl+Alt+A into the Press New shortcut field and it will give you a link to quickly jump there.)
I'm sure Don will fix this, but it might not be as quickly as normally, since he's delved deep into
dual panes.

Damn, how did I miss that? Thanks, much appreciated. It'll do as a workaround in the meantime until the problem is fixed.

So he's actually going ahead and doing it? Wow. I'd actually adjusted to life without it after switching from Directory Opus almost a couple of years ago, I'm curious to see how he intends to implement it.

Wow! the need to click in the address bar as previously discussed in this thread has near driven me insane for months... Alt-D is, for me, the well established choice from Explorer, and I've been amazed that XY doesn't do same.
As for why the poster of this thread didn't find that Keyboard Shortcut - how WOULD anyone find it without literally burrowing through DOZENS of key mappings to find it? I doubt I would ever have navigated through that whole list to note that one sitting there. not that I don't like having all those choices - I just wouldn't have spent the time.
On my machine, prior to setting up the new mapping just now, Alt-D didn't do anything when I hit it in XY, so its not like its already being used for something better. In that case, might aswell just make that a default setting.
Stu.

I'd guess Don didn't use it as the default because he wanted to only use Alt+Letter shortcuts for accessing the main menu or as accelerator keys. I'm more familiar with Ctrl+L from Mozilla/Firefox, though I think they have always used Alt+D as well. It probably wouldn't hurt to make it the default now. I've always been confused with why Microsoft decided to use it in the first place; not only does it seems to break their guidelines but I also find it to be an uncomfortable combination to press.

It is listed on the Wiki:
http://88.191.26.34/XYwiki/index.php/Ke ... cuts#Other . You could also use Help->List of Functions to copy the list of all available commands to the clipboard, and then paste and search this within a text editor. Perhaps the Misc. -> Focus Functions commands should be elevated to a submenu of the Window main menu - then they would be available and the shortcuts visible from the main menu.
It's been mentioned previously that the CKS dialog is in need of some attention and a few of us have desired a filter/search feature, but the time just hasn't been right and it hasn't rated as important/desired as other requests. Maybe some day though!
