Switching tabs should not refresh the search

This has been bugging me for a long time. Everytime i change back to a tab with search, the search restarts itselfs which really wastes my time. Is this a bug or just the way it is?

It's currently just the way it is.
However, Don plans on adding search result caching in the future and that should eliminate this problem.
I'm with you on hoping it's sooner rather than later though.

I actually hate this behaviour. I hope there is a solution sometime soon.

It's on the Roadmap, but based on the poll thread that I created recently (
http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3234) where it got only one vote, there seems to be a desire for other things first.
FWIW, I've had a dislike for this behavior for quite a while, so at times, I will resort to using Win Expl in another window to avoid tab switching and thus search redo...
On my older (slower) sys, the constant re-searching (while quick) takes time that I don't need to waste to get the exact same results that I just had before in most cases...

the horror! Why not just load up another instance of XY instead? Surely it can't be the start time...
EDIT: hmm.. about that. So I just went into my Config|Startup and enabled Allow multiple instances as well as Always new instance, I then saved my settings and tried to launch a new instance of XY -- but it kept going back to the running one

Is that expected behavior ? Would I need to like restart XY before I could actually use two instances ?? The tooltip just says config needs to be saved, and it was...

No, actually...I know it's a sacrilege but I do that to keep straight as to which taskbar session is which, ok? XY is then my search results and WE is my work.
