Selection Filter... select by line
like #: step, footage

example:

#: 2
select every second line (file) till the end of the list

#: 3,100
select every third file till we collect 100 piece

Well, and what's this good for?

If one have sets of project files (six files each) and want to select always the fourth file from each project.
Well with your 'regex selection' one could build an filter on it's own... but simple select every fourth file would be easier.

Or f.ex. simple select every second file (perhaps there is nothing common to filter at easy)

pic001-thump.gif
pic002.jpg
pic002-smaller.jpg
pic3.jpg
pic3-th.jpg
pic04.png
pic04-change.png

For just selecting every fifth *.mp3 file as an kind of random collection.

Just want to make it easy.
