Please implement consistent tab sizes instead of the current constantly changing tab sizes. This will make tabs easier to see, locate, and predict. This consistent tab size can be user configurable to a default size, and make the tab size auto adjust only when display area is necessary.

Plus if the address bar is added in [like Windows Explorer], then there is no need for large tabs to display directory info. And the address bar is very useful for copying directory address text for other uses [such as making shortcuts, etc.]. Please don't leave the address bar out. Thanks.

Under the "Go" menu you have "Go to..." and "Go to from Here..." menu items. These act like the address bar. To copy a file or folder's path, you can right-click on the file or folder and select "Info to Clipboard"...there are many options available there.

Not having the address bar frees up space on the screen. To me this is a feature. Although I certainly wouldn't dismiss the idea of an option to show/hide an address bar.

Just Downloaded XYplorer - Great prog (was using Xplorer previously). Have to agree with TsunamiZ - the option to view the address bar would be useful (some of use use it fairly often).

Agree with your thinking re. space which is why this should be an option.

Think TsunamiZ also posted elsewhere re. XP Style Tabs - again I have to agree (mainly to do with theme usage). But obviously we can't force anything on you (the tabs are perfectly fine in XYPlorer with standard themes).

Once minor cosmetic change I would request is for the left edge of the tab bar to line up with the files area (e.g. if you only have a few toolbar icons, the tab extends over above the treeview which looks a bit strange).

Anyway just a suggestion, thanks for a great file manager.

Yes, it is important to have address bar option because for the newbies the ctrl+G option is less obvious though it does the same job. But personally i will never use this address bar because of the ctrl+G option.

So now everybody is talking about an address bar. But where to put it? Explorer has it below the toolbar, but that would not work in XY because of the tabs. So, if I do it, it will be above the toolbar. Just as a warning...

I'm still to new to XY to have a definite opinion, but having an Explorer type bar would be possible in all that grey area to right of "Favorites Tools Help", and display of it be option driven

I'll join the "anti-address bar" side! I don't like the address bar idea. Ctrl+G & Ctrl+P provide all that is needed. Address bars are usually not easily accessible via a keyboard shortcut and I'm not a fan of the rat in file managers.

I won't use it either, but fear not: the address bar would be optional. Sometimes a have a weak spot for user wishes

Alas, the grey area to the right of the menu is not reachable for me! It's a pain in the ass, but that's how it's designed by MS.

So, the address will definitely cost you about 22 vertical pixels. Is that worth it compared to Ctrl+G once in a while?

Rat or rodent - another word for the mouse. Usually used by people who prefer keyboard operation to mouse operation because rats are not normally thought of a pleasant creatures. I'm surprised you had not heard the term before Donald.

No never heard it before, although I should have been able to do the little semantic jump within the rodent family by my own. Thanks for assistance!

Keyboad access: I could make it that Ctrl+G will move focus to the address bar if it's visible, else open the old Go To dialog.

That sounds excellent - should satisfy both parties.
