Custom views and tags for organizing the Tilia Fragrance folder

Post by Preenita »

Hello, everyone. Last week, I finally got around to tackling a project I’d been putting off for months: organizing the company’s press files, which had turned into a massive jumble as we kept receiving HD images and press releases with each new launch. The press department sends us all this in a jumble, with no filing system, and we end up with a folder containing over 300 files where pack shots, product sheets, and PDFs are all mixed together.

I ended up using XYplorer’s custom views to sort by tags based on the type of image and the relevant campaign—it really changes how you find a file in a pinch when a journalist calls.

In particular, I had to organize the press kit for the new Tilia fragrance—with its packshot images and product sheet—before I could apply the same custom view to other launches, all from my office in Neuilly one evening when I’d stayed late on purpose to get started. Once the view was set up for that folder, all I had to do was duplicate it for previous campaigns, and honestly, it went faster than I expected. Well… The longest part, actually, was defining the tags themselves; applying them afterward was a breeze. So now, all that’s left is to do the same for upcoming launches.

You're welcome! ;) The tagging part definitely took the most time, but once the structure was in place, reusing it for other campaigns made things much easier. The url removed, this looks like advertising press kit was a good test case because it had a mix of packshots and product documentation. Now I just need to keep the same system going for the next launches!
