Manage/ Delete Tabsets

I started to use tabsets, which is a nice feature, but there is no way to delete the ones I do not want to use longer.

Tools / List Management / Recently used Tabsets pane 1 / 2, remove the ones you want gone.
After that you should be able to delete the tabsets you no longer need in XYData/Panes/xxx (xxx = the name of the tabset to remove)
Never done this myself, so use with caution and make a backup first.

You may try
MyTabsets tabset manager, which helps easy tabsets handling.

Thanks, I do just want to simply manage the tabs, without the need to install a script or whatever.

Thanks for the pointer, not what I was looking for. I am not sure what this list-management option is for. [EDIT: I tried it and it does not allow to delete tab-groups as such.]
I now found how to delete the tabsets: "Go to tabset-folder" brings you to an ini-file of the current active tabset. Going one directory up it lists all tabsets, each in a folder. So I now can delete those easily. Still the user experience I think is bad here (once again not how one would XY expect to work). Donald mentioned he would need to be notified if there is a problem. This is another one, which users would appreciate when it could improved:
The expected way would be a GUI to manage the tabsets. If that is not wanted for whatever reason (I can not understand) a workaround which would be already better then the current way is if "Go to tabset folder" would go to the folder of _all_ tabsets, not the current one. Who would want to edit the ini manually? In contrast likely more would just simply to manage (in that case) delete a not longer used tabset. When you land in the parent tabfolder one sees that there are directories with the tabset names and can easily navigate to one to edit the ini. But one would already be in the right place to at least see all defined tabsets by (folder) name.

Just to be clear - you've already being proposed with 2 solutions, but you withdrawn both seemingly without trying = UI Tabset management or scripting(which exists exactly to fulfill user custom wishes instead of cluttering UI).

I do not get your response. I said one solution did not work -- so that is not a solution at all. The second "solution" requires to fiddle around with scripting for a basic feature (deleting a tab group), which is not something which a user should need to revert to. Simple stuff has to be simple and not require scripting, searching the docs or forum... It will not clutter up the UI, when that is offered in the relevant dialog BTW.
Instead I myself explained that I found out how to delete the tab groups and suggested a workaround, which can be implemented by Don in a minute or two (changing the default path of "go to"). I also explained why such a basic feature should be accessible without jumping through hoops. Don wishes that he finds more users. XY not being easy enough to use for the more easy stuff is exactly one reason which will keep people from deciding for that program.

How is that not a proper and already existing way to delete a Tabset..?

And FYI scripting is not there "only for geeks to fiddle", it's a Huge XY's Power exactly for adding whatever users wants.

The screenshot you show is deleting one pane, not a tabset -- which is what I want to manage. I tried that option and it is not the simple option needed. Why would there be an easy to access option to create tabsets and to rename them, but no option to delete one? Does not make any sense to me.
But we do not have to agree if managing tabset fully is a basic feature, which is now not completely implemented.

You just explain that it _is_ a feature for power users. I want a file manager which offers many features, which are decently easy enough to use. I do not want to "fiddle around" for basic stuff for sure. I would only use scripts for needs which are very individual - deleting a tab group is surely not falling into that category.
