How do I customize this glyph? I would like to change it to a custom PNG.

I am pretty sure it is drawn not a glyph, dev can confirm though.

Yep, drawn and uncustomizable.

"Great" will be subjective! It's for a specific purpose of fully emulating the look of Explorer by realtime syncing the Quick Access list into XYplorer as an included Catalog. I know if I change the glyph, it will apply to all catalogs instead of just one, but I only use one "include" so I don't mind. The icon being in the catalog name isn't ideal for me, but the 'include' glpyh applies to all items.

These would be nice to have along with glyph customization:

Control over the size of the glyph (currently it is 16px?). 18, 20, 22, 24px values for example.
Per item control over the glyph displaying. That way I could avoid it in the Catalog group name.
Or... per catalog glpyh png definition? Defined at include time?

I don't know why there's a horizontal separator above the full (non-include) Scripts catalog there. It's the first item so there shouldn't be a line.

Do you know that you can customize the icon before the name of a catalog item?

I do, but the 'included catalog' glyph is what I hope to change.

Well, you can't. Go for the customizable icon.

I want each QA item to keep its system-assigned folder icon. It is the green glyph on the right side that stands out. They serve different purposes.

What's your problem with the green glyph? The color?

Colour and shape. It stands out quite a lot. Could custom colour and circular shape be possible if png support is not? If I can change the white and green to custom tones, I can make it less intrusive grey or a favourite colour when the sole catalog I have is a read-only Include generated by a script. I already know my catalog is Included, so having a green square beside every item is visual noise. It's not giving me information, it's demanding attention with no return. I might try dark greys so it's there but close to my dark mode background. I might try a neutral medium-light purple with no white border. Rounded feels like it fits more with Windows 11. The sky's the limit with pngs, though.

The color will change if you include more catalogs:

That's an old feature. Right now, I'm not sure why every item has the glyph and not just the category header. Someone who regularly works with embedded catalogs should chime in here.

That sounds like a bug if it's not supposed to display the glyph on every sub-item?

Can any control be added over the colors per catalog? Perhaps passed to it during the Include command? I only have one catalog included, so I am stuck with green.

Color control and a rounded glyph style option.

That's the question. Currently there is no time to go into it. Let's see if somebody chimes in.

...

Okay, I did it. Less is more. The next version will...
- remove those colors, all glyphs will be just grey
- show the glyphs only for the category headers
- make them look better in dark mode
