Maybe I failed to find the corresponding option, but the Show Menu Bar button right-click menu does not expand menu entries on mouse hovering. Instead, a menu entry like "View" has to be clicked first to reveal what sub-entries it has.
Btw., I am an old user who likes the clean look and additional handful of pixels for the tree and list views

I'd love to do that but it's technically tricky. I'm working on it.

Oh, I see. Maybe something like the Firefox approach would be less difficult to implement? They show arrows for expandable menus and open sub-menus in place of the main menu, with an option to return to the main menu on top.

I'll find a way, but it doesn't have the top priority on my todo list.

Totally understandable and good prioritisation, actually
