It’s possible to disable tooltips for columns, but there is one column where tooltips would still make a lot of sense: the Comment column.

I wanted to politely ask whether the developer might be interested in adding an option for this in the future — for example, allowing comments to be excluded from the “Show tips for clipped tree and list items” setting, so comment tooltips could still remain active even when that option is turned off.

Thanks for asking politely, but I think we have enough settings and exceptions from settings.

I had overlooked an important setting: I think that if the 'When hovering over the icon' setting is enabled for both, then the hover box takes precedence.
