I wish the loop option for audio/video would also apply in the Preview Pane.

Hello.

I’m not sure if this is a bug or a feature, but it behaves the same way in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

Audio/Video preview: Play again

Autoplay: checked

In this case, audio and video only loop in the F12 - Info Panel - Preview Tab.

In the Ctrl + F11 - Preview Pane, they play once and then stop.

Interestingly, if both F12 and Ctrl+F11 (opened in that order), looping works.

It’s inconvenient, so I usually preview using the Info Panel + maximized Info Panel.

It would be nice if the Preview Pane alone followed the option settings.

From what I remember, someone pointed out that the Info Panel and the Preview Pane work differently, which could explain it…

Still, I’d hope the option settings would apply to both.

Thank you.

Try this: Configuration | Preview | Preview | Audio/Video preview | Use native handling in the preview pane

It works the same whether it's checked or not.
I have the K-Lite codec installed, so XYplorer uses it to preview. Is that the reason?

Hmm, this might be a bug, but it seems with "Use native handling in the preview pane" the looping is controlled by this: Configuration | Preview | Mouse Down Blow Up | Mouse Down on Thumbnails and Icons | Loop

Oh yeah. That option works! Thanks!

On a related query, I noticed that the loop param of SC sound seems to be ignored for anything other than an external wav file, is that all that is supported for looping?, the docs don't specify, but I know the embed/quartz stuff was a more recent addition. eg:

sound "*1", 1;

or with a non wav audio file selected:

sound <curitem>, 1, 0;

Will be better in next beta (but not for non wav audio files).
