Any benefits to updating to 64 bit version?

I'm sure this has already been discussed, though I didn't find the answer via forum search. I've been off the forums for a while, so I'm catching up...

I see Help/Online Support/Update to 64 bit version. Also, in the Beta Versions subforum, I see that there are threads for 32 and 64.

-Is there really any benefit (or cost) to installing the 64 bit version? Is it faster, when I have custom color rules, icons, etc?
-Also, I'm guessing that the beta updates will usually be the same for each(?) Same features, bug fixes, etc(?)

- Less need to have 32-bit apps installed when 64-bit apps don't register their context menus in the 32-bit part of the registry.
- At some point the 32-bit version will only get necessary but fixes, no new features anymore (officially: when the first final of x64 is released)
- In the future: Support for multithreading + XY on other platforms (Linux, MacOS, ...)
