Any benefit for XYplorer devs from simply running Beta version?

I am going to convert from 32 to 64 bit, and I noticed the announcement for the latest beta.

I'm wondering, would it benefit the devs to have me running beta on my laptop, if I never bothered to fill out bug reports? Or is that the primary purpose of letting us run the beta? Sorry I'm very busy, but if you have telemetry or find some other way to benefit (crash reports?) from my running beta, I'll gladly do it. Lifetime license if that makes a difference. But if you need bug reports to make this worthwhile, then there'd be no point for me to install it, so I'll just use the Release version.

Also, how stable is the beta version? I run Firefox' beta version and it is incredibly stable. I know different companies will have different understandings of when software is ready for a beta release. I'd rather not install it if it isn't already fairly stable.

Beta users don't automatically send any bug reports or collect info. If you find a bug, it's up to you to post in the forums to get attention on it.

Like Firefox nightly, the core features of an XY beta are quite stable, I doubt you'd notice any difference between a beta and official release.

Personally, I feel that the beta versions are actually more stable, due to the fact that Don pushes bug fixes as soon as he gets to them, instead of in big batches like the official releases.

Keep in mind that the transition from 32 bit to 64 bit has a few underlying bugs that will eventually be ironed out, but nothing major... I still remember the very first release of 64bit Beta being unable to rename any files... That was a big one

Thanks for the heads up about a possible bug.

Well its looking like there's not much reason for me to use beta, which is ok.

If I did move to 64 bit, it wouldn't install right over the 32 bit, right? So I could still use the 32 bit if there was something with 64 bit that I didn't like? Or would I have to resintall the 32 bit version, to revert back to it?
