Generic File Types

Hi All,

Does anyone know where in XY the Generic File Types are defined? For example, which specific files types make up GFT {:Text}?
Can I view/edit the list of file types that make up one of the Generic File Types?
Can I add a new Generic File Type?

Sorry for the noise but I can't find this info in the help.

Thanks
John

You can add extensions here:
Configuration | Preview | Previewed Formats

Cool.

I saw the screen, but they have different names. The help says, for example "{:Text}" but Configuration | Preview | Previewed Formats refers to them as "Text Files". Also, there are some GFT listed in the help ({:Archive}, {:Vector}, {:Executable}) that are not shown in Configuration | Preview | Previewed Formats. This is what made me think they are the not same.

I can add/remove extensions from an existing GFT, but I can't add new GFT? Yes?

Cheers

You can tweak it. Search the INI for "CustomExtensions" and you'll find a bunch of keys.
