[64bit] Rebuilding Thumbnails Cache
Posted: 17 Jul 2025 14:29
Using 64bit 27.90.0009 on Win10 desktop.
This question is not unique to the 64bit version as I experienced it with the 32bit also.
All the directories on my PC that have photos are set to display as Thumbnails #3. When switching to a new photo directory (for the first time with 64bit) the thumbs need to be rebuilt and it takes quite a while if there is more than a screen's worth of them. And it seems that XY is only building what's visible. I have to scroll down a couple of rows and press F5 in order for it to continue scanning.
As a side note, I would've thought that the cache for the thumbs would've carried over from my previous 32bit. Obviously they didn't.
Is there any way to get XY to scan all the directory at once? Or at least an entire directory without the need to scroll and F5?
Thanks.
EDIT: I just discovered View > Caches > Refresh Thumbnails and it does seem to scan the entire directory.
