If you really want Don (or anyone) to help, you should ALWAYS include the XY version number, whether you're using 32bit or 64bit, and the EXACT steps to reproduce the issue.
In this case, HOW were you copying? And from/to where? Drag and drop? Left or right drag? Context menu? From list/tree/tab/desktop to where.

None of us are mind readers.

Just not wanting to disappoint Don who reputedly thinks most people posting are trying to be as vague as possible  .

But, I thought it was all in the attachment including the error message. However, yes, x64 v27.90.0006 and copying using TB button and pasting also using TB button.

And changing the subject from "Error message" to "... x64" helped immensely to reduce the vagueness of this post.
Everyone will jump right in, thinking "Yes, I've seen an error message before"

That message has a problem itself.

Run this through the address bar, what do you get? error 5;

Okay, thanks.

So now we got "x64 - Error message" (great title). Can you share what you did before that error occured?

Just, Copy, Paste using the TB buttons.

BUT with just some just now experimenting, it looks like it ONLY happens when I copy a file onto itself in a different directory.

Here is the error message again.

Yep - FWIIW, only happens when I copy a file onto itself.

And also only when I do copy, paste. NOT cut, paste.

For Cut Copy Paste, I am using custom TB buttons with scripts associated with them, not the standard buttons which come with XY.

Cut: #200

Copy: #201

Paste: #202

You already said so. It doesn't happen here.

I can reproduce it. Have the background operation on and also queue file operations on.
Have these two files. Now try to copy file from folder A (stit.dbf) to the folder B (where one already is)
C:\A\stit.dbf
C:\B\stit.dbf

BTW: I can not create folder on C drive in TB version. CTRL+N do a rename instead of "new folder". In subfolders it works.

And I can't create a subfolder in C:\ either. I get message below. But creating a new folder works OK when creating a new folder in a sub-folder of C:\
