.sgi and .pic fileformats for preview, collapsed sequences

Hi,

I'm looking into the new version 7.5 of XYplorer, and although it's really good, - for me - there's still some missing functionality.
What I would love to have in XYplorer is the ability to preview the .sgi and .pic formats. Both are formats created by 3D Applications like Maya and Softimage XSI and normally contain a alpha channel as well. (Which might be nice to see with a shortcut key).

Also, additional to this, it would be great to have the possibility to see numbered sets of images as a "collapsed" sequence. E.g. a set of images named test.001.sgi till test.200.sgi will show in the folderview as test.[1..200].sgi.
The additional ability to double click on this and "reopen" the numbered list would be the cherry on the cake so to speak ;-)

As I'm just testing things I have no idea of plugins, scripts etc. that might be out there to do this, or not....

Now it would look like I have to swap between XNView en XYplorer to do my daily work, but it would be great to do most of it in something like XYplorer and have the occasional use of XNView.

cheers,

rob

Looks like you are not raising hell with this wish. I would add them if more interest would be visible. Personally I never met an SGI file in my life.

While understandable and original, that wish isn't likely to happen. Good for few, bloat for many...

Well, it depends on the line of work I guess, I've seen enough .sgi's to last me a lifetime.

Also (collapsed) sequences come "with the job", as this is very common as well in the 3d/video industry.

Apparently XYplorer isn't used a lot in these regions

Still hoping for .sgi and .pic support though, will have an eye out with every new versions.

If you promote it in these regions I'll add SGI. Tell them "author is willing to add SGI if that's the only obstacle"...
