I have a confusing dilemma with xyplorer's tray icon.
I'd like to have xyplorer persist in some way on the taskbar. Ideally I'd like a pin icon and a tray icon so that I have easy access to it. I recently started using the tray persistence settings(close to tray, min to tray, etc).
If I click on the tray icon it will pop up the window and the tray icon will disappear while an xyplorer icon will appear on the taskbar. This causes things to bounce around.
I'd like for the icon to always stay in the tray or always be in both the taskbar(as a pin and tray).
The reason is that sometimes the xyplorer window gets completely obscured and I have to check out two places to determine if it's even running or where to go click. E.g., if I open it from the tray it disappears from it but puts itself on the taskbar or with the pin. The window, if it is completely obscured may look like it doesn't exist(specially with a pin). If it is closed then, with a pin, it may seem like it is loaded.
What would be nice is that if one clicks on the tray icon it will bring the window to the foreground or open the window(which ever is required) and keep the tray icon. This way I can use the tray icon as the location to access xyplorer in one spot. If it's missing then I know that xyplorer isn't loaded.

Re: Tray icon persist?
This is rather a Windows problem. Which means it will never be fixed. Or if you're lucky it's a Windows problem with 32-bit executables. Then it will be auto-fixed with the upcoming 64-bit edition.

Re: Tray icon persist?
What about setting WS_POPUP(as an option)?
For example, the everything app(or many) can be set to never show a taskbar icon and simply live in the try indefinitely. I don't see what would make xyplorer necessarily different that it couldn't do the same thing(if the option is set). WS_POPUP would get rid of the taskbar icon but the tray icon would still need to persist which it does in everything.
