Programatically Change "Video Preview | Preview As Thumbnail" Config Setting

Hi -
1. am i correct that there is currently no way to toggle the "Video Preview|Preview As Thumbnail" config setting by script? I see the old posts about the undocumented tweak() script command -- but looks like this isn't among the limited commands for which tweak() works [and i'm not even sure tweak() still works at all -- the posts were 10-15 years old...]
2. assuming there is no way current way to do it -- i don't suppose there's any chance of that being implemented? I am loving the video quick preview feature when i need it. however, except for when i'm actively using autoplay, i prefer my icaros generated system thumbnails to the previews i can achieve with the various settings in xyplorer -- so i find myself frequently toggling 'preview as thumbnail' on and off. i would love to be able to toggle that setting with script so i can call it by keyboard shortcut. i know it might be a hyper specific use case, but if it's easy enough to implement -- i'd love to see this option in teh future. thanks!
