Scanning for phantom removable drive at startup

I've searched the forum and crawled settings, but I can't seem to find what's causing XY to scan for my "H:" drive on startup.

I do have "Auto-Refresh->Include removable drives" ticked, but I want do want XY to refresh WHEN a thumb drive is plugged in. I have not had one plugged in for days, and have rebooted multiple times, yet XY keeps showing "Add drive H:\" in the splash screen, and because there is no H: drive, startup hangs for a while. How did I get this behavior, and more importantly, how do I stop it?

Thanks

Yeah, I get that here too. I can't explain it. Windows insists on reporting that these drives exist, even though it's a lie.

But you can tweak it away:

Code: Select all

HideDrivesByLetter=H
It may also be enough to uncheck Hidden Drives in Configuration | General | Tree and List | Items in Tree and List | Select Items...

Unchecking Hidden Drives seems to work, thanks!

I thought I was going crazier than I am, but glad to read that you're occasionally seeing this too. Seems it's a relatively new thing, but I don't have time at the moment to try to go back version by version to try to pin down when it may have changed.

Thanks again

No, it's very old. Don't bother.
