There has been much debate about this, perhaps my experianc might assit.
Installation:
1. XYplorer Enterprise 26.60.0300, Windows 11 Home 64 bit, up to date.
2. xyplorer.ini
2.1. PreviewDocsFocusStealFixExt=
3. Not using BrandsICT Msg Preview Handler, that I am aware of.
4. Foxit PDF editor.

With an .msg file visible in the Preview pane then hover in the pane, not the file name or extension, the file is visible readable and can be scrolled.
If the focus is moved to a second file with the same extension hover is available but no scroll.
On restarting XY the initial conditions are available. Hover is again available; the file is visible and scrolls.
Floating Preview is available and repeated scrolls available only when the Preview pane is not visible.
Scroll works repeatedly in “file explorer”.
Viewer file allocation exists in only one category.
• .msg Document Files.

PDF files work fine and do not lose focus.

What do you mean by "hover is available"?

I define "hover is available" as moving the cursur to the pane, initially allows scroll but subsequently on selecting a different file, scroll on the new and previous file is not available.

Thanks. There's nothing to be done. The MSG preview handler is completely weird.

Is there an alternative to the the MSG preview handler?
As an aside FreeCommander has the same problem!!!
File explorer works so how does it process msg files?

Unfortunately, none for free.
Only the one which comes with MS Office / Outlook.

Still dont get why XY does not work as Explorer does. I have Outlook installed so am I by default using the Outlook MSG preview handler?

Try to tick this: Configuration | Other | Shell Integration | 64-bit Windows | Use 64-bit preview handlers for preview

Answer, is I did not know it existed!!
Any reason you hide some information?

PreviewDocsFocusStealFixExt? In my ini file = nothing, not 0 or 1 is that correct?
I now believe that a recent Windows may have corrupted some files.
After re installing the MSgPreviewer64_installer procedure all is resolved.
