I assume people here are mostly geeks and superuser, ideal place to ask this.

I got fed up with Avast lately which I have been using since forever. I need some solid protection with as little performance impact as possible. Specificaly realtime performance as I am sound designer and working with audio is heavily dependent of overall realtime system performance. I have learned Avast is not really good at this.
I am looking at Malwarebytes, Norton or Bitdefender (which is btw developed in the neighbourhood of mine)..
Do you guys have any recommendation?

I just use Windows Security (comes with Windows 10) as anti virus on each of my eight desktop PCs and five laptops. Windows Security works well and very easy on resources.

Adguard Home installed on the router and covers the whole home network.

uBlock Origin on every browser profile.

AdGuard AdBlocker on every browser profile.

I have ad free Internet browsing experience.

Haven't been using real-rime antivirus for more than 10 years, so maybe picture changed, but in past i used Nod32. More important was the firewall, 'cause whatever knowledge you have to spot "suspicious files"(viruses) before letting them launch, you can do noting to network breaches = my choice was firewall from Comodo. Yet i was using some stand-alone/portable anti-viruses(like Dr.Web and AVZ) for whole system scans from time to time.
AdGuard is a good thing to have too, mainly for cutng adverts through which common users often click-invite viruses.
