Preview won't see particular text files.

I have two text files created by another program. XYPlorer will preview one of them, but not the other. Is there any mechanism to figure out why the Preview is not working for one file?

Observations:
1. XY thinks both are type: "Text Document".
2. If I go to DOS and do: type "filename" , then both files appear correctly, as far as I can tell.
3. If I doubleclick on both files, they open in my Text editor and look ok.
4. Both files are less than 4K in lenght.
5. The writing program is closed, so there should not be some file locking problem.

Thanks for your time.
Best regards,
John

Does any of these commands do not show the content of one of the files (select the first file, run those 3 commands one by one, select the second file, again, run the 3 commands)?

Code: Select all

text extracttext(<curitem>, , 1); //auto-bitness; suppress IFilter errors
text extracttext(<curitem>, 32, 1); //32-bit; suppress IFilter errors
text extracttext(<curitem>, 64, 1); //64-bit; suppress IFilter errors
Not previewed where, in the preview pane and / or the preview tab in the info panel?

Any message in one of those panes with the file that is not displayed?
