Dominant Pane

I use Dual Pane feature, but what happens often is that new tabs are opened in my smaller/helper pane and that's really annoying.

So I have a wish for a Dominant Pane option/tweak, so whenever I open a folder from the Desktop, Everything Search or any other external app, I want XY to open it in my chosen/bigger/Dominant Pane. Same when opening a folder from the Tree, except while holding the Alt key.

I think this would make sense for everyone who uses second (or first) Pane as a smaller/helper Pane.

What do you think?

I have no thoughts on this as I don't use Dual Pane. Let's see what others have to say.

I want things to open in my current selected pane, not anywhere else.
Just use a script #805; and assign it a keyboard shortcut to move a tab to the other pane?

I use it all the time and that's the problem.

Where did I say this? I just select the pane I want tabs to open within before doing tab opening things, that's the difference here...

As highend said.

And when I switch panes, I exchange the widths - so the active pane is always the wider pane.

Oh well, thank you highend your script will work most of the time, except when using Tree or Catalog, hence the wish.

EDIT: There is this trick for the Catalog. Only Tree is left.

You are free to use a cea script to handle tab opening when you change a folder in the tree?

I think I am. Not sure I understand the question, are there unwanted consequences?
