XYplorer Beta Club

This isn't particularly important but I've noticed XYPlorer has started to take around 6 or 7 seconds to appear when I first click on it after booting into Windows. I think this has been the case since v26.50 or possibly v26.40. It's quicker when opening the app subsequently but I just wondered if there are any fairly 'obvious' settings I could check to help improve responsiveness.

I view the Navigation Pane, 2 explorer panes and a Preview pane. I don't use Paper folders or any scripts that I'm aware of.

Any ideas why it's now slower?

Well, it seems a lot better now so quite what that was all about I don't know! Typical huh?!

If XY is on a HDD and additionally not excluded from the used antivirus engine I would say that these startup times aren't unusual.

Mine takes about half the time than yours but I use a locked mini tree, don't check for existence of subfolders in the tree, use SSDs only, no antivirus engine running, etc.

FYI, from v26.50.0101 onwards there can be a new last line (only shows if Content-Based Folder Icons are used):

Interesting. I have XYPlorer (and Windows) on a Samsung 990 Pro 2TB NVME drive which is fast.

I no longer use Norton AV - just the in-built Windows Defender but I'll see about optimising my system better by doing what you suggest Highend.

Content-Based Folder Icons will slow down startup a bit, that's why it's mentioned now in this place.

CTRL + Leftclick on: Menu - Help - Various Information...

Shows a lot of tipps to make XY as snappy as possible
