SC get lengthsselected can have no return

I have had intermittent problems with the return from SC get lengthsselected occasionally being blank, I think going back to its inception, my theory was that it happened after I had had the Length column in the list visible and removed it, which then made it not work correctly for a while (until tab switch, loc change etc.), although if I understand correctly, unless I use bitfield 2 I should always get a return from lengthsselected. (especially in the case of the Shell column)
Anyway using the new skip custom columns function I have been able to create a repro which I think demos something similar to what I was experiencing earlier, so possibly it's resolvable.
