Mouse back button behavior

I had a question a while ago about the list scrolling to the top of the view when I went "back", and Don's reply (viewtopic.php?p=218241#p218241) to use "GoUpIsBack=1" solved that problem.

However, regardless of GoUpIsBack=1 or GoUpIsBack=0, when I use the Back button on my mouse, the current tab goes "up" instead of to the last place in history. I would like the mouse back button to truly go backwards in the history stack, not up (and the mouse forward button to go forward in the history stack). Currently I have "Go->Back" mapped to Backspace, and ALT+Left, this is great, but how can I also use the back button on the mouse to do the same?

Thanks

Worked perfectly, thanks. Interestingly, I had an installer version from this app from 2020! I must have discovered it a while ago (for this, or some other reason) and forgot.

Would be much preferable to have XY support mouse key modifiers directly (@Don, any chance?) but this will suffice. Thanks again

Hm, AFAIK this should work since v4.40.0081 - 2006-02-07 08:55.

Make sure this is set in XYplorer.ini: XButtonSupport=1

Hi Don, yes, XButtonSupport=1 is already set, but MB 4/5 didn't pop/push history until I used the XMouseButtonControl app and defined XYplorer to instruct ALT+Left and ALT+right.

Strange. It worked back then for those with a 5-button mouse. Something has changed, but what?

For me, this buttons work without an additional app.
For a Logitech mouse with such buttons, Forward and Back are the default settings.

Interesting. My current mouse is a HyperX, I will have to dig out some other ones and try them.
