"Open with" hangs - not your fault, but checking if there is a way to help me

Thank you for a great product, it has saved me a lot of time.
If this functionality already exists, please excuse me, I have not had much time searching for the answer.
Short of it is that I lose my settings of tabs, etc in XYplorer, when I need to kill the process.
This is a 'weird' one, because it actually has nothing to do with your software.
My computer probably needs a re-install, but for the time being, I got too much going on, you know how it is.
What happens is that my "Open with", even in windows explorer, somehow gets corrupted and fails to open. It is similar to going through a secure tunnel and you no longer can access remote drives like google drive or something else, just hangs. I have tried to fix the registry and looked for different ways to resolve it, no luck.
Once it hangs, I have to kill the process, but now all the tabs that I had opened are not saved, so I have to set it up again. If you exit and save, then that is fine. I can't predict the hang though.
So, is there a way that XYplorer can save automatically (every 10 mins or so) the tab layout, I know you can have multiple tab layouts which is great, but would like a layout for which I can set it to auto save, maybe have the others as not auto-save.
Or as an alternative,
I like the new feature of Rapid Access.
Maybe it would a be unique feature, where you are "Rapid Launch/Open",
which allows you to instead open a program or you can drag and drop a file on to it to open it.
If it can be context sensitive, i.e. if I am on a text file, it hides programs that cannot handle the file.
This will completely replace my broken "Open with".
Again, if the above already exists, feel free to refer me to the manual
