How to edit a file property?

I'm trying to edit several file properties in a list. Clicking on the filename allows me to edit the name of the file. I expected clicking on a file property, such as Album or Title for an MP3 file, would allow me to edit the property. Alas, it doesn't. How can this be done?

In the same way as in Windows Explorer?
Right click the file, properties - details, edit the property there...

The Windows Explorer approach is clumsy and time-consuming -- it takes forever (seemingly) for the dialog to pop open and then you have to switch to the Details tab and find the property that you are trying to edit. There are better ways to do this.
In the xplorer2 file manager, using Details view, a user can double-click on the cell of the file property to edit that specific property in situ. It's very fast and intuitive.
