no changes to it that I am aware of.
Has there been any change in functionality that I missed?
I recreated (or thought I did) vía view paper folders new, but to no avail.
Anything you can think to help me resolve this?

I don't know what you mean. PFs seem to work fine as usual. Describe exactly what you are doing, what you expect to happen, and what happens instead.

I created a paper folder (through the View|paper folder|new commands)
Added a button to the toolbar (see details below).
I expect (and it use to behave this way) to be able to drop files from the list onto the button (one or more) and if/when I double click said button it would take me to the paper folder with those files in there.
Everything seems to work ok, except that double clicking the button takes me to the right folder, but it is empty.
So I must be missing something.

Confirmed! Fix is on the way.

BTW, you never double-click toolbar buttons. A single click is all you need.
