I know this is an old wish but with the advent of FVS I hold a large number of Acad drawing files in pdf format and to be able to see these as thumbnails would help enormously.

Can this be developed with in XY to create pdf thumbnails, maybe as a config option. I do not think this is bloat as pdf's are a common file type and searching by visual thumbnail is a lot easier. For document type pdf files maybe just the first page of pdf is imaged as a thumbnail.

It's on my list already. But not that easy to do. Already failed once. Will try again later.

Out of my depth here, but I have recently been using Sumatra PDF because it is extremely fast and portable. The code is available and I just wondered if some of this could be used and then having generated an image re-sized it to a thumbnail size.

No, I don't use any 3rd party stuff.
