How do you make 16x16 icons?

The more time passes the least i find actual icons be available in web, everything goes about png or svg. Not a problem, lots of online convertors and apps, but i never met in my life a solution for creating proper 16x16 icons. In old times 16x was often an individual variant with sharpened lines and even some redraw of details, so any modern resizer obviously can't do something at least close.
I use Detailed view and CFI a lot, so surely want my icons look good. Maybe smbd knows some magic app/web?

this script works for me :
imagick == imagemagick.exe
Code: Select all
$output = $source_wo_ext . ".ico";
run lax("cmd /c ""$imagick" convert -background transparent "$source" -define icon:auto-resize=16,32,48,256 "$output""");
or if you prefer an app , use "any2ico"

@bossi thank you for the tip, though my question was more about some possible way to make 16x16 icons look better. Any shrinking app i tried so far make awful quality for 16x16 icons. This demands to either manually make icon sharper with editing or even re-draw it.

Can only be done manually (or with AI, if not now then soon).

Looks interesting "on paper" but refuses to launch(crashes) on my end. Probably needs smth for working, but no mention on that site, still thanks for a try.
