Focus rectangle disappearing around the thumbnail but remaining around the caption after a refresh

Post by o7blue »

I'll start of with an example:

1. Video file is selected
1.PNG
1.PNG (31.39 KiB) Viewed 181 times
2. I click off the file, focus rectangle remains
2.PNG
2.PNG (30.44 KiB) Viewed 181 times
3. I refresh the view with F5, the focus rectangle breaks
3.PNG
3.PNG (30.27 KiB) Viewed 181 times
I think this started happening after I set thumbnail padding to 0. This happens with a lot of files- all image files, all video files, folders that have a video file in them, etc. Pretty much anything that generates a thumbnail I guess. This does not happen with empty folders, .txt files, and .json files from my testing. Also I have thumbnail generation disabled for mkv files via the
NoThumb
tweak, but that did not seem to impact the focus rectangle breaking.

I'm guessing this isn't intended behavior? Here are my thumbnail and highlight settings:

Confirmed and fixed.

PS: Your font setting is killing the layout, but you just don't care :)

I noticed that too and it's bugging me as well! The worst of it is in the copy dialog where some elements get cut off. But look at the main window though!

In the main window at least, everything fits ok. And the font isn't all that big either imo, it's just Consolas 14pt

If only I could use a different font size in the settings and copy dialogs...

Here the right parenthesis in 'Copying' is cut off by the item name, and the time remaining is not even visible:

Also, after updating to 25.80.0331- selecting, deselecting, and hitting F5 still results in this focus rectangle:

If the fix was in this update, what other info can I supply to help diagnose this?

It's just too big. Make it smaller. Which size works?

Here's my

I guess I goofed and thought that the main font applied to the dialogs, which it doesn't. Dropping the 'Buttons and Labels' font from 12pt to 11pt makes it fit. Buttons are just a smidge smaller than I'd like now, but I can live with it.

Cannot reproduce the focus thing anymore. It's fixed here. :|

Whoops, not in Dark Mode!

Ah, that made me remember another (probably) dark mode related issue (blue bar is crooked):

I remember you fixing basically the same issue for live filters and mentioning it was a dark mode exclusive issue. I only saw the quick search results having the same issue some while later.

Thanks for the double hint (to the issue and to the recent related fix). Fixed in next beta.
