Somehow my XYPlorer is suddenly opening a version of its configuration that is a very old backup. I'm not sure how this is happening.
I have multiple backups of both these files:
- xyplorer.ini
- Config.ini
I have them in two locations:
- C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\XYplorer\
- Documents\PC COMPUTER\XYPlorer\Roaming Backups\
I can't imagine what is causing this all of a sudden (after a clean boot).
Any help would be immensely appreciated.

Re: XYPlorer is opening the wrong configuration file
Where does menu item Go > "Go to Application data folder" take you (i.e., what folder)? Use menu File > Settings Special > "Load Configuration..." to load the configuration you desire.

Re: XYPlorer is opening the wrong configuration file
Go > "Go to Application data folder" = C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\XYplorer\ ... So it was already pointed at the correct directory.
File > Settings Special > "Load Configuration..." > and pointed it to this: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\XYplorer\Config.ini
That fixed it. XY must have suddenly loaded one of the backups in that same folder. THANK YOU!

You know that the default file name is XYplorer.ini, right?

Re: XYPlorer is opening the wrong configuration file
Well they're both in the same directory -- so it solved the problem either way.
BUT... no -- I always backup Config.ini; should I be backing up this instead: XYplorer.ini -- or perhaps both?
It would appear I've been backing up the wrong file for years. On occasion though, I backup the whole directory (minus Thumbnails and Log folders).
Appreciate your help.

Re: XYPlorer is opening the wrong configuration file
There is an AutoBackup sub-dir.
At least save this, including its sub-folder 64.
I use the portable XY and save its whole Dir, excluding the thumbnails,
into a deduplicating ZPAQ archive.
This way I can restore any full version or file from the past.
