Right-Click empty space of tree

It is possible to right click empty space of tree and in the context menu there are FAVORITE FILES, FAVORITE FOLDERS and SPECIAL SYSTEM FOLDERS.

Would it be possible to add an option that also DRIVES and HOTLIST are displayed there?

I know that I can find them in the menu bar, or can open them by KS, or can have toolbar buttons. But I'm more a mouse user and my toolbar is already so full. It would be nice to have everything just near the catalog, one mouse click away.

Nothing important, just an idea.
Thank you.

Hi and Welcome to XY forum,

Then one option would be to have ::#526 (drives) and ::#530 (hotlist) in your catalog.

Actually, you can also put them on your Favorites ! Simply add this to your Favorites, and you got yourself a way to access Drives & Hotlist from the Tree's ctxt menu :

Code: Select all

"Drives..." ::#526;
"Hotlist..." ::#530;

I'll add my welcome to XY forums as well.

You got help from a couple of the best here...jacky has been known to better understand how tools/parts of XY can be used than Don (author) does! :lol:

And you've also seen how quickly a reply is given here...that's part of the outstanding support that we, as fellow users, attempt to provide especially to new users...so hope that'll help you find XY to be worthy of a purchase!

However, I like your wish and there might come a day when I add a tab "Events" (or so) to the configuration, "Action & Response":

Code: Select all

Actions                        Responses
---------------------------------------------------------
R-click on empty in Tree Show Favs Popup
                               Show Hotlist
                               Show Drives
                               etc.
                               etc.
Dbl-Clk on Statusbar (same responses are offered)
Middle Clk on List (same responses are offered)
etc.
etc.

So for each action there would be
(1) a dropdown with responses (you could also assign a certain response to different actions); and
(2) a textfield where you could define a script that's triggered on that action.

Cool, another great idea. If my signature wouldn't be too long already, I really would be inclined to add this feature. :wink:

OK, now we know your secret. I already assumed that Zen meditation alone can't do the trick. So now I know the place to find inspiration when in need of some good ideas. :lol:

YES! I've said it before but this ability to trigger scripts on events would really be cool! In fact I already have my middle-click scripts ready & waiting 8)

Also, would those events include other "kind" of events, such as "Location Change" or "Item Selection" ? Might be nice as well...

/me goes to pray so that that day comes sooner rather than later...

Sure, the metabolic school of thought -- it all comes down to the basics sooner or later... :wink:
