File copy from computer to mobile phone

Post by coukou »

Hello,
I'm new to Xyplorer.
I want to copy directories or files from my computer to my mobile phone while keeping the original Timestamp. Win Explorer copies the files to the mobile but with the today's Timestamp.

When I use XYplorer, it does not allow copying to the mobile and returns the message: "Operation not allowed. Portable device are treated as read-only."Is there any parameter to set ?
Regards

TNX for yr quick reply ;)
Indeed, I'm able to copy directories and files from my PC to the mobile phone as with Win Explorer... namely, on the mobile the directories and files take the current timestamp. And this, although
Tick
File Operations | Backup Operations | [x] Preserve all item dates
File Operations | Custom Copy Operations | [x] Preserve all item dates

is there a way to preserve the PC original timestamp of directories and files copied from the PC to the mobile phone?

Nope, not possible. (These operations are not handled by Custom Copy, but only by the shell.)

@coukou, if you Really Need(want) to preserve file dates, you actually can do that, but you'll have to learn some XY scripting and later make a manual operation(script launch) after each such copy, basically coping dates of sources and pasting them upon new/target items.
But that's worth it only IF you really willing to spend efforts and need to preserve dates.

I really need to keep file dates.
TNX for yr proposal, is interesting but requires a lot of effort. I prefer to zip the directories/files, transfer the zip to the mobile then unzip it on the mobile. I admit it's tedious, but faster.
I hope by then, XYplorer will release an update or find another utility

Use FTP on your phone and transfer with something like WinSCP and check preserve timestamp.
