In the past it was possible to jump to a specific file by typing its name with the keyboard. Now it seems that this behavior depends on the sorting. I have to sort by file name to get this behavior back. If I sort by file type or file time XY jumps to the file type. E.g. if I hit "M" XY jumps to the first MP3 file. Really strange. Is this a bug or a feature? If the latter: Is there a way to disable this?

    * List: Before, Find As You Type (aka "Type Ahead Find") always used
      the Name column regardless of the current sorting. Now, it uses the
      columns Name, Ext, Type, or Path if they are the sorted columns, and
      defaults to Name in all other cases.
      This, for example, makes it very easy to quickly jump to RAR
      files: Sort by Ext, press R-A-R.

Haven't had to experience this so far, plus I don't use columns Ext or Type, so I don't know how I feel about it yet....

OK, I've missed that in the update history. But I don't like that. There should be an option to disable this.
I'm always sorting by file type and I have several folders with files of the same type. There it doesn't make sense to use "Type Ahead Find" for the file type.

Yeah, to tell you the truth when I read that I had my doubts about it, but, as I said, since I don't use most of those columns myself I wasn't too affected so I said nothing... Though it might bother me with the Path column on SR.

And yes, I agree there should be an option to reverse it, because it's way more natural to expect that feature to work on the Name.

Is that so? I'm personally very happy with the new way. But okay, I'll make it configurable of course.

Surely it is an interesting feature, but in my case it causes problems: My default sorting type is "by type" and most time I'm using "Type Ahead Find" within my movie and music folder.
Maybe it would be a good idea to make a toolbar button to quickly turn this new feature on/off?

For now I have added it to config, so no quick on/off. Let's see what others think...

Of course you are, that's why you added this new way!

But while I can see why on occasion it might be good to quickly move to RAR files as you said, I really feel most people (most of the times) expect this to work on the item's name, regardless of current sort order.
