Windows XP / windows 7 are for myself the most confortable use because we can use the "classic color themes" with much subtilities,
Top much adapted for each indivicual eyes.
( little green is much less tyreing color for me + always visible scrollbar, and LOW contrast on menus )

Then, begining with Windows 8, Microsoft has definitifly took of the safe-eyes "classic themes" and imposed WHITE,
wich was / is the most awful dazzling for eyes !
Microsoft think that someone with eyes difficulty has to use their "High contrast" themes with NO backgrounds and other problems... ( Dictature )
Never could i use Windows 8 because of headaches after 20 minutes front of some White win 8 screens...

Fortunatly 1 : Thanks to XYplorer i can do with Windows 10, thanks to file list windows custom background. Not white !

Fortunatly 2, late in Windows 10 Microsoft accepted to bring... some DARK mode. Well : much less dazzling.
The begining to be some average workaround, ... but not very fun to use daily,
( too much CONTRASTED , + near invisible scrollbars make daily use a PAIN !

and daily working with tires on eyes, when managing lots , lots of files !
that's why for long time i keep much possible software in Windows 7 )

( picture 1 standard white mode. Fortunatly in XY the windows Background is colored.
But the scrollbar on right side is still just invisible !!! or near... because of Microsoft.

picture 2 Dark mode in XY is better... but i don't use it so much, because too contrasted.


Here is My wish :

As in picture 3 :
would it be possible to make customisable Menu+icons bars background colors, so that dark mode would be less contrast ?
in this Dark mode : the scrollbar is always visible even in Windows 10 !
(scrollbars are a little bit better in Windows 11 - but still far from classical themes ergonomy )

and... ideal :
in picture 4 :
custom top menu + icons bars background colors in light mode + custom scrollbar color on the side
This point should be difficult, because need to bring own scrollbars colors by maybe "hack" windows tread ?
( + custom columns separator color + icon separator lines should be the same of background )



Note 1 :
i manually painted to bring some idea, so that texts become less readable, because of anti-aliasing pre-calculated for full white or full dark.
but if this comes from settings, text will be well, of course.

Note 2 :
screen captures are displayed in reverse order despite numbered files. No way to change this problem here.
So they are displayed reverse to my explanations...

You know that you can adapt the level of darkness (and text in dark mode)?

this is some begining... for dark mode, but i would prefer to have real colors settings insted of only 2 levels.
And for light mode : i would like to have custom top ribbon color, at first.

( i think that custom scrollbar color isn't accessible because of Microsoft hardcoded, ( shame on Microsoft ) )

Coming back, just to say that there is some very good new :

the Windows Classic Theme has been de-locked by Microsoft in silent,
so that, after some few things to do, it can be re-activated by shell commands.

last version of "Explorer Patcher" let Windows 10 and Windows 11 be compatible with Classic color themes,
so that i can find back ALL the eyes confort and readability, lisibility in dialogs, and recover real windows with scrollbars !

this is when something dissapear, that we find it is daily mandatory. This makes me, after years.... forget Windows 7
and use former and modern softwares together.


Thanks to "Win Classic" communauty of real tweakers and hackers.
i thought : maybe on day, all the Microsoft Windows programm code will be revealed, by retro-engeneering, forced by Microsoft themselves because of all theirs mistakes and lack in programming and basic algorythm notions. So complicated minded that users must find themselves how to tweak and hack , for being able to use daily the OS without pain.

So much funny !
