Hi,
I have a weird issue while accessing my network shared folders in XY from my laptop.

My Synology NAS \\SYNOLOGY\ has several shared folders. If I want to access any shared folder directly, there is no issue at all. For example, accessing and browsing \\SYNOLOGY\video or \\SYNOLOGY\audio or \\SYNOLOGY\documents works fine.

However, if I try to access the root of shared folders, which is \\SYNOLOGY\, XY does not respond for 30-40 seconds and then shows the list of shared folders. If I want to select a shared folder, again XY does not respond for 30-40 seconds before the selected shared folder is highlighted. After clicking on the shared folder, again XY does not respond for 30-40 seconds before the content of shared folder is displayed. Once I am inside the shared folder, everything works fine!

Notes:
- I am using XY Version 25.40.
- From Windows Explorer, there is no lag or any similar issues at all.
- I don't have this issue on my desktop while accessing \\SYNOLOGY\ in XY.
- I have removed and re-added windows network credentials but to no avail.

Any ideas?

Does the status bar show anything during those 30-40 seconds?

No. It just goes to the "Non Responding" state.

Did this start with 25.40?

No. It has been there for quite a long time.
Let me check with the older versions.

I checked the "noinstall" versions. All of them work fine.
So the issue could be something either related to the installation of the app, or to some customized settings, as the noinstall version launches a clean XY without any customizations.

If I install an earlier version over 25.40, does it revert back to the earlier version, while keeping all my customizations?

Hmm. No-install and install versions are 100% identical. The only difference is the location and the existence of an uninstaller.

Maybe it's a matter of your rights? Whether you run it as admin or as user?

Both versions are being tested with the same admin account. I even tried to open XY from within program files folder (not using the provided shortcut). The same issue persists. Running the app with and without administrator rights is also the same.

No-install version does not read settings and customizations. So it could be due to something in XY settings. Any suggestions in XY settings?

INI keys within my "XYplorer.ini" are fine.

I continued the troubleshooting by replacing files from the installer one by one.
It appears that the issue arises from the settings stored in the following location:
\Data\Panes\1\pane.ini

When I replace pane.ini with the one included in the installer, the network locations work fine!

I have attached pane.ini for further evaluation.

Your pane.ini looks like a file from hell. The Columns keys have 280KB???? What did you do?

I have never touched the file. Whatever is present, have been created by XY!

In XY, I have created custom column layouts to show specs of video files. But it was working as expected before. And those columns work in my desktop without any issues.

And what does it have to do with the root of network share?!

If your new pane.ini again grows and grows to over 100KB, I would like to see your whole configuration (app data folder). Something is going wrong.
