How to add, for instance, .ini files to Preview?

Hi and welcome to the XY forums!

While it is possible to add some additional formats to preview via INI Tweaks (see http://88.191.26.34/XYwiki/index.php/INI_Tweaks#Preview), this presumes that one can preview the file via IE integration, and attempting to use IE to look at a typical INI file, I find that it opens WordPad to do it...so thus may not work as desired.

So for a typical text based INI file, I just use the Raw View tab instead.

Now it's also possible to set the switch on Config Previewed formats panel to auto-preview in Raw any non-defined ones, so that would allow you to use the "Preview" tab and get same result, but I prefer this switch off myself.

Is the XYwiki available at a different place now? Links with 88.191.26.34 IP address don't work anymore. Thanks.

It does seem that I'm able to preview INI files here on my Win 7 set up.




Floating preview and "mouse down blow up" also seem work...

Right. I wasn't asking about the original question, but rather where the "how to" wiki articles can be found these days.

Unfortunately, that wiki was owned and operated by a user and they've since closed it and are no longer an active member of the forum.

XYplorer has changed dramatically in the last 8 years though, so I don't suggest reading the archived content.

In this particular case, Don brought these tweaks for adding custom extensions to the preview categories into the configuration GUI as of v9.00.0207 (2010-04-30).
