Hi

windows 10 pro 64bit and w7 pro 64bit , xyplorer 25.10.0100 , only kaspersky antivirus free edition

xyplorer does freeze and crash if i select many files like compressed files , programs and msi file , mostly when i selected program and i click the left mouse button

I have tried to customize the context menu -> configuration -> menu , mouse usability without luck

I guess it's windows or the kaspersky or xyplorer ,just because i did several tests with windows explorer and it does happen

is there a way to disable the windows context menu in xyplorer ?

just to perform a test ,would like to select many files and use only the xyplorer context menu , i have tried to turn on native context menu (should disable windows context i guess ) and hide shell extensions from shell extension menu
I can't understand if it's windows or

thanks

The same happens if you use Windows Explorer?

Uninstall Kaspersky
If this doesn't help, disable all shell context menus one after another (e.g. via shellexview from nirsoft)
If this still doesn't help, install Windows from scratch...

Hi
in a folder i have 1869 files , i guess they are the exe files , maybe kaspersky does scan them
i will uninstall kaspersky , and i will try again
about
i have tried to turn on native context menu (should disable windows context i guess ) and hide shell extensions from shell extension menu
, it does help a bit

maybe somebody could try to open a folder with lots of programs (exe files ) and select all o them , right click and check with

Code: Select all

native context menu
hide shell extensions from shell extension menu
both disabled and an antivirus On

Why do you open the context menu? What do you want to do?

well I wanted to perform a copy/move action (1869 files) , and i know there is panes -> move to other pane and copy to other pane and the shortkey shift+F6 and ctrl+F6

I have uninstalled kaspersky , and i guess it's windows ,maybe windows does start to calculate all the files size
I guess it's much better to keep these option ON

Code: Select all

native context menu
hide shell extensions from shell extension menu
I will create a portable version and i will test with anothers windows computers and with an hard disk ,not an ssd
thanks

The shell context menu is rather inefficient for large numbers of files. Better use the XYplorer commands you mentioned, or the native XYplorer context menu (Configuration | General | Menus, Mouse, Usability | Context Menus | Native context menu).
