Mini-Tree Within Each Pane ?

hi! i always see a post or comment show up requesting a separate tree for each pane (that is active and visible). personally, i don't have any issue with the current setup with a single tree that changes when i click inside a pane. i see dual trees in other applications; however, i don't feel that i am missing that here in XY.

that said, with monitors expanding, screen size doesn't seem to be an issue. here is an example of a new, empty folder showing in one of panes :

would it be possible to add new mini-tree controls to the left side of each pane that is connected to each pane ? optional and expand/collapsible of course. if this was an option, it could solve the "dual tree" requests and may even come in handy.

to keep it simple, i think it should be mini-only and only support the basic of features, e.g. navigating, standard right-click menu, etc.

For me, dual trees are not really helpful.
I use Total Commander and XY.
Total Commander offers trees per pane, but I only use one.
I even switch off the tree completely most of the time
as there are enough ways to reach any folder very fast,
using LIstary or Everything integration.

Btw. I would like to only show the tree by a toggle button in XY.

I would like to only show the tree by a toggle button in XY.
Then do it? #668 and get() can check for it :)

Thanks, the button was easy :)
Now I'm searching to automatically adjust (extent) the column with in the panes if the tree is switched off.
In TC this is done without additional programming.
I guess in XY this will need some scripting.

No, that doesn't change the layout, if I run it after the tree is off.

Then you have to work with columnlayout() and setcolumns() ...

May I ask what scenarios you cover with TC, FTP?

Since a long time I no longer need FTP.
In the past, I used it a lot to send error reports to several support sites.
TC FTP covers all settings and features one can expect for a non-dedicated FTP client.
Do you have some special needs ?

Sync with a file item-wise preview list. Usually script based XY sync is the way to go, but sometimes I want to see a detailed "editable" merge listing before.

You get a preview like shown below.
Then you can change single entries or whole dir entries
before starting a sync.
