incomplete file search

I am posting this again because I had some trouble when logging in, today. My old post was lost.
Problem: I did a file search in one single tree on all folders looking for a name (like John Doe) in all comment columns (explorer comments) within all files of that tree.
There was one folder which contained that name in each comment column of all files. I was aware of that. So, I got all file names in all locations within the tree except except the folder which contained this name in every comment column. How can XYplorer miss 90% of all potential hits?
And I have a question regarding the many check boxes of the search function. If I do a basic search like the above, which boxes must be checked - provided the correct tree has been selected? I used cmt:John Doe and checked the box "name". I got file name/location of many files all over that selected tree. Only the the most important folder was missing.
