I have a simple text file (named test.txt - inside the attached zip) that contains the string EVT1. If I use the Info Panel "Find Files' with contents "evt" (and "Match case" is not selected) the file is found. Perfect.
However if instead I search for "EVT" ("Match case" is still not selected), the file is *not* found.
If I turn on "Match case" then the file is found.

[solved] Find Files by Contents fails for uppercase search string
Re: Find Files by Contents fails for uppercase search string
Can't reproduce, it even works with EVT here...
Try it in a fresh instance again

Re: Find Files by Contents fails for uppercase search string
Restarting XY didn't solve the problem, but I clicked on "Reset Filters", entered the search string again and now the uppercase search string works with "Match case" unchecked.
I looked through all of the tabs for "Find Files" and don't notice anything different from before, but I didn't take screenshots so maybe there's something I missed?
Anyway, whatever the cause was it's gone now. Sorry for the false alarm, but thanks for letting me know it was something with my environment.
