Drag drop from desktop to XY not working

I recently updated to XY 24.90.
I'm pretty sure drag-drop used to work to XY, but now if I drag a file from the desktop, I can't drop it in a folder in XY.
The cursor becomes the slash/circle icon when over XY's window.
Is there a settings change I need to adjust?

Here that only happens when trying to drop it to the same folder.

XY is running elevated?
That's an interesting question. I was able to resolve the problem by closing XY and re-starting from the icon on the desktop.
So the next questions are:
1) why would XY disable drag/drop if running elevated?
2) what would cause XY to run elevated?
3) is there any situation where running XY elevated is required?

Windows security doesn't allow this from normal privs to enhanced privs.
2) what would cause XY to run elevated?
You have an option set in the shortcut from which you are running XY
3) is there any situation where running XY elevated is required?
Yes, of course when you want to write into protected dirs like program files.

Another possible cause for 2.:
Depending on your update behaviour, i.e. if you run the XY..._Install.exe as admin, you end up with an elevated instance of XY, which you then need to close and restart with normal privileges again.
