I tried rolling back from a large delete (400+ files), and got an error "out of string space".
Acknowledged the prompt, then closed and restarted xyplorer. On restart, xyplorer reverted to what looks like a fresh install - screen position lost, all tabs lost, various config options lost etc.
Easy enough to fix since I have a daily overnight backup, so I simply restored the complete xyplorer folder.
My views are:
- if a major exception is thrown, should xyplorer immediately inhibit "save settings on exit"? (Yes, I know there is an option to exit without saving, but remembering that option given the *very* rare need to use it...)
- After the exception is acknowledged, should xyplorer exit rather than continuing use of the potentially corrupted current session?
regards

... got an error "out of string space". Did the app crash after that message?

Re: Restart after "out of string space" error trashes latest state
You know, I simply don't remember whether the application closed on acknowledging the prompt, or whether it stayed running and I deliberately closed it. The attention grabber was on restart when everything had reset to default.
Sorry.
(My memory is excellent. It is just very, very short )
