Windows Defender detecting xy as a threat

I just installed the latest beta version of xy and Windows Defender got its knickers in a twist. Detected it as a severe threat and automatically quarantined it, which while being slightly annoying, is good that it is actually doing its job correctly.

No it doesn't its job correctly.
That's a false alarm.

Indeed Xy is a terrible virus - it first infected my PC with itself more than 12 years ago and keeps it that way!

Just white-list the XY executable in Windows Defender. And submit it as a "false positive" to Microsoft.
