It's because the Glider is Phase 1. No buttons yet. See the beta notes.
+ The Glider, Phase 1: The glider is now implemented for the tree (a list glider may
come later). It does nothing yet (no buttons), but you can get a feel for it.

not to me. the shape, size and look is perfect. if you really want to see ugly, look at any screenshot in this forum showing XY with dark mode - THOSE are ugly (as you can tell i'm not a fan of any dark mode, not just picking on XY).

In v24.90.0104 I checked glider:

1. I couldn't translate glider. I had to leave it in the form of glider in Russian letters. But in Russian (and I think in all languages) this is a very narrow concept, which is available only to those who are in constant contact with it. This is either game lovers that have such image, or mathematicians, who consider it in their narrow aspect. As far as I remember we have Floating Preview but no floating toolbar. As for me Floating Toolbar (or may be Float toolbar) sounds better.

2. when this small panel appears on hover to the left or right of the tree node, but nothing is selected in the file panel, then the button icons are inactive and there is no hint like "the panel buttons are inactive because you have not selected anything in the file panel"

3. when I press a button on the glider panel with a right click, the button performs an action, although intuitively a person after a right click expects that this will not happen.

4. When I make a copy using the glider panel it is very hard to remember to which folder this action was applied, because this action is done on the tree, and it changes all the time, and it would be very nice to highlight the folders (where something was moved or copied using the glider panel) in the tree for a while. The only way to find out where (just a few seconds ago) I wanted to copy something and see the result is through the action log. First of all, it's inconvenient. Second: the result may not be what I expect: There may be name conflicts, automatic renaming, and you know, by copying, it may be situation, that perform an action is impossible.

You've Innovated:
v24.90.0105 - 2023-09-04 15:10
- The target folder is now additionally marked with a surrounding rectangle.
I would leave this rectangle visible for 10-30 seconds as a highlight of a recent action performed with the glider.

However, if such a highlight slows down XY, you can generally mark actions performed using the glider buttons in the action log.
for example, in the action log, you can surround the icon of the completed action with such a rectangle.

Why? It's just a normal file operation and it's in the action log. Should be enough.

When I perform a normal copy operation I can always find the location where the operation was done. I can go back to this place.
When I scroll through the tree and make a copy to some folder I couldn't get back to it. I wasn't in it. And if the brain remembers something, it is the name of the folder (and it is not memorized for long), but the path to the folder is not memorized. I can't just go back to this place.
