STATUS BAR SEEMING WRONG INFO

I am using the trial version. I have a network B: drive and no A: drive. When I open XYplorer, it goes to the path I set for Startup. In testing, I used C:\ and X:\ for the Startup path, and, yes, both drives exist, with C: the internal system hard drive and X: a network drive. Under all circumstances (close and re-open XYplorer) the bottom right of the STATUS BAR says 'B:\'. When I switch drives (left-click a different drive), and then left-click the original drive, it says (for example) 'drive C: used ...'. In other words, the initial value for the bottom right of the STATUS BAR seems always to be the first available drive, in my case, B:, and it doesn't even show the "used," etc. info for that drive. I think it should show the info for the drive in Startup. That it doesn't is a bug, no? Why would this be a feature?

Could you show a screenshot of the complete XYplorer window right after startup, showing the wrong status bar message?

I've added three attachments xy1-xy3, which should be viewed in the xy1, xy2, xy3 order. I FILE COMMENT'd the pictures. I assume you asked the question because you could not duplicate the problem.

I have recreated your configuration, but I can't reproduce the problem. Have you changed any other settings since the initial installation?

By the way, it's interesting that it only shows "B:\" and not something like "drive B: used: 139.84 GB free: 93.42 GB (40%)". AFAIK this can only happen if you are in the This PC (Computer) node and select a drive in the list.

I did change some settings (Configuration...). But I am new at this program, XYplorer. I don't know all the "knobs" I may have adjusted. If you tell me which files -- or sections of files -- you need, I can compress and attach them. For the main .INI file, I noticed some private information (e.g., [mruBrowse]), so tell me what sections you need for that file (easier: tell me what sections to remove from a copy before I send the compressed copy). I assume attachments are public.

FWIW, I did turn on the the Shell Integration feature, and later it appeared the 32- and 64-bit context menus did not work the way I expected. Also FWIW, I am using Windows 10 on this PC, but I have turned off A LOT of built-in Microsoft features, and I use custom S/W to make the PC look and feel more like a Windows 7 PC. I can't think of anything offhand that would affect the file system and the behavior of XYplorer.

P.S. Given a moderator, I can attach the whole .INI file (compressed) if you agree to remove the attachment before making the post public.

Just send me your XYplorer.ini file by email.

Pardon my ignorance, but do you want me to send a real email to (1) support@xyplorer.com -OR- (2) click Contact (left side of screen) and send a private message?

Got it. But it did not make me any wiser. The issue remains a mystery. :|

I've been a programmer for a very long time (including Windows GUI from Petzold to Visual platforms), so my natural tendency is to want to look at the code. On the other hand, even though I'm a newbie when it comes to XYplorer, I can see the attention to, and coordination of, details in the product. So if YOU can't see the problem, I doubt it can find it. All I can offer is trying things. For example, if you make a test version with debug, or there's something I can dump using features already in effect, let me know.

Just to make sure: You close XYplorer on any location, then open it again, and it opens at C:\ (Permanent startup path), but the status bar says B:\. Correct?

Wow, you're not going to believe this. (OK, maybe you will.) First, to answer your question, the answer is YES, I close and restart, and it ends up with 'B:\'. Now, more info than you need but I want to give, the shortcut I use to launch XYplorer in this context is in a NEXUS toolbar (NEXUS because MS-Office's Shortcut Bar no longer works in Windows 10 -- unless they backed out that incompatible change and didn't tell me). Because THAT toolbar I want to ALWAYS go to C:\ -- the shortcut is named "XYplorer C Drive" -- regardless of the default opening path in 'Configuration...', I had '/path=C:\' hard-coded in the parameters field. I decided to remove it from the parameters field (knowing C: was still the default), just to see. It STILL showed 'B:\' but I NOTICED SOMETHING! The stuff that should be there ('drive C: used...') is ACTUALLY THERE and then it gets OVERWRITTEN by 'B:\'. YES, the RiGHT STUFF APPEARS TO BE THERE, but disappears when 'B:\' takes its place! Can you duplicate that?

You start it from a NEXUS toolbar, whatever that is ... :eh: ... no, I cannot duplicate it, probably because I have no NEXUS toolbar :)

Idea! --> What location is your other (inactive) pane pointing to? I bet it's "Computer".
