Is it possible to highlight all files within a folder that match an inputted string without filtering the files that do not match the string?
Thank you!

Why don't you use the selection filter (Ctrl-M) for this ?

Use the highlight (or "spot") marker
>> before the string, eg
>>beta right in the address bar (press ENTER to toggle on/off) will highlight "beta". Add more strings separated by a space, eg
>>beta zip xy.
PS: Okay, the OP probably means select when he says highlight, so Horst's reply is good. I leave the above info anyway.
PS2: There is also a selection marker
>>>, eg
>>>beta. It does not support
>>>beta zip xy though. I wonder why, will look into it.
PS3: Fixed in next beta.
