I can't drag from any folder to the desktop

I am running 24.40.0107, but I think it was true on the previous version. Before I haven't noticed.

UAC is your enemy. You've probably run XY as admin. Don't.

Then drag'n'drop is broken. (Assuming that you already tried to restart XY: ) A Windows reboot should fix that.

Yes! Even to the desktop folder. So that's a workaround.

Can you try with a fresh instance?

I tried with a /fresh copy. That works fine (as expected).
Then I saw Jupe's suggestion about extended compatibility. Ticked that and it seems to work. Any other side effects from that choice?
Oh, I just checked History.txt. The cost is speed! Not a good thing then...

From where are you dragging, list or tree?

Yeah, that was my guess. I mentioned it in my question. But can't think of what...
I am (trying to drag) from list. (in fact, as mentioned earlier, dragging from the list to the desktop on the tree, it works!
